Would People Really Pay More for Status than Comfort?

I’m back as promised. I dropped a bomb at the end of yesterday’s email. Click here to check it.

STATUS>COMFORT

No BS. It’s a fact that people would pay more for status than comfort.

There’s a reason why people by LV shirts for $450 when there are literally shirts with the same design for $15.

People would skip all the quality checks for the LV shirt and scrutinize the quality of the $15 shirt before buying.

For the LV shirt, it’s not about the quality, it’s about the perceived value and status that it gives them.

How does this relate to you as a copywriter or marketer?

Well, just like people are willing to pay more for luxury brands, clients are willing to pay more for copywriters that they see as valuable or high status. Now it’s more than just quality, it’s about perceived value. It’s almost like your reputation becomes part of the quality of your work. If you position yourself as a high value copywriter, clients would be willing to pay you more.

To do this, you need to create a strong personal brand on social media, like X or LinkedIn to show your expertise and offer firsthand value frequently. Use social proof, like testimonials and case studies to show your expertise.

It’s simple, when clients see what you have done for others, and how others in your field respect and learn from you, they immediately justify your high price in their minds.

If you want to get to this stage, you’ve got to start somewhere. Get off your ass and start grinding. Get experience and crazy results for your clients before building in public.

I’m rooting for you. See you next week.
